We are a friendly group of adult runners of all abilities who enjoy a variety of running and social events throughout the year.

Members range from those competing at a very high standard to those who prefer a more relaxed pace and a chance to meet friends. All share a love for being outside and keeping fit.

“Since joining the Harriers, I have rediscovered a long-lost love for cross country and track racing. I also have competed in road races and marathons across the world, and it is amazing to be recognised in the club vest in places as far away as Sydney and CapeTown. What a great club to be part of!”

Colin Ricketts

“Being a Harrier has brought so much enjoyment and variety to my running. There’s always something to get involved in and always a friendly face, a good catch-up and, quite often, cake! The Harriers strike a great balance between competition and fun, ideal as someone with two young children. Taking part or volunteering is celebrated just as much as athletic achievement.”

Stephanie Hanes

“I have made many long-term friends, improved my running markedly and my life generally has been enriched by being part of the club. I love the diversity within the Harriers, and always get inspired by everyone’s adventures, near and far. It makes me want to inspire others too with my own, and ‘feel the rush’ amidst yellow and blue.”

Elliot Chiles

“As a solo morning runner, I didn't think club running was for me, but the warm welcome persuaded me to try a few sessions - and I was hooked. I’ve discovered a love for track sessions and cross-country. Representing Kent in cross-country was an incredible milestone, huge thanks to Andrew Deighton for encouraging me to join. The Harriers have become a massive part of my life.”

Katie Baker

"My first Wednesday club run is still etched in my memory. Carol and Lucile immediately offered me a spare club deckchair for a photo, a simple and kind gesture making me feel at home. The Harriers are a club for everyone, and the social side is just as important. Parkrun enables regular chit chat with fellow Harriers, and Sunday long runs with others are great for exploration. I’m extremely glad that I’m part of this wonderful club.”

Kannan Mahalingam

“I joined TWH in 2017, but this year I went on the club tour for the first time, which was a fantastic experience. I’ve made wonderful friends and feel lucky to be part of such a friendly, supportive and inspiring club. Every session challenges you, pushes you a little further, and helps you improve in a fun way.”

Rose Sawyer

"Tunbridge Wells Harriers have supported me through my coaching journey from nurturing that initial seed of interest to helping me achieve my full coaching qualification. Coaching is a fantastic way to help and inspire people into running. I also get to give something back to the club that has supported me and it has improved my own personal development."
